Carlos Israel Ham Ramírez

He holds a BA in Sociology, from Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM), a MA in Social and Political Studies from National Autonomous University (UNAM), a diploma on Social Impact Assessment and Consultation from the Latin American Faculty of Social Studies (FLACSO México).

He is very interested in political and citizen participation, environmental governance and socio-environmental assessment. Prior to joining the CCC he worked at WJP as researcher and at UNDP as a junior specialist in participatory processes.

At the WJP, his main activities were to support research on the Rule of Law Index at the subnational level in Mexico, analyze the public environmental information available in Latin American and Caribbean countries for the development of an Environmental Governance Index.

His experience at UNDP allowed him to recognize the situation, needs and challenges that the environmental governance processes have in Mexico, among other things he collaborated with the analysis of the mechanisms of citizen participation of the environmental sector.

Currently, he works at the CCC as a Sustainable Development Program Officer. Among other things he collaborates in the process for the Escazú Agreement, in the systematization of participatory experiences related with environmental governance and strengthening capacities for the environmental governance in the Northwest.
